It’s hard to imagine the complications/ramifications/over-reach that just a few words can have when you read them for their face value. And it is this lack of imagination, on behalf of the 17th Amendment, that has caused virtually all of our social and political pain over the last 40 or so years.

This one amendment is what turned our political world upside down, effectively nullifying state power and succumbing the individual directly to the power of centralized, socialist nationalism.
It is the cause of political poverty, unwed mothers, legal abortions, rampant atheistic irresponsible freedoms, our runaway national debt, and multiple generations of loathsome, selfishly lazy people.
It helped, like no other small group of words, to free the black man, and then quickly re-enslave an entire nation. It has brought the greatest nation on earth to its knees; not to its knees before God, but before the Crown of elitist cronyism. It has ripped our hearts out and replaced real hope with wicked desires that wreck a man’s soul.
The worst part is that you cannot understand without a full-blown internalized understanding. The simple words themselves look to be innocuous to untested ignorance; the words themselves even look to be desirous, magnified by misleading socialist sound-bite claims that every voice –every vote—must count.
We’ve been duped, hog-tided, and fed meaningless hogwash that has shut you up, shamed you into submission, and caused you to expect mediocrity in the place of greatness.
It has turned a nation built on rock into a nation built on sand- moving with the soulless physical desires of whimsical godless lust. The greatness you perceive today is not because of what we’ve done today- it’s only here because of the leftovers from centuries past. But soon their greatness shall become but whispers in the wind, and only then will you know the damage we’ve caused to the most perfected form of government this world will ever muster.
It’s a shame to see Her go away.
If by some chance I’ve sparked your curiosity please do not read one article or one book on this subject and think you now understand. Pray tell, if you do not arrive at being wholly convinced the 17th is the root of all political evil, read and read and internalize this subject until you do reach that conclusion. No one of substance is kinda-sorta for or against the 17th Amendment; you will be in its favor until one day it will hit you like a ton of bricks- YES, I see it! I just hope by then, there’s something left to save.

Eventually, the ramifications of these few words contained in the 17th Amendment will suddenly be made known to you.
Our education system has failed you, and Liberty. A complete understanding of federalism and constitutional republicanism is critical to opening of your political eyes in this matter. While certain freedoms may seem to be free, lasting liberty has an infinitely revolving cost.
